One Piece doesn’t usually have romance and the only character who actively expresses any such behavior is Sanji. One Piece Fans have made countless theories about the possible romance between Sanji and Nami.

Hence, in this post, I’ll try to add a little extra in this ocean of fan-made theories and speculation.

Does Sanji Like Nami

Hmm…Sanji has been a perv since the very beginning of the manga. Even before joining the Straw Hat Pirates he had shown strong sense of attraction towards beautiful ladies.

Unfortunately, what we all miss is his strong sense of respect towards ladies…

Now, coming to the real question: Does Sanji have any romantic feelings for Nami? Questionable! But, here’s a thing. If you’ve been watching/reading One Piece for a long time you’ll notice that Sanji treats Nami a bit differently than other woman.

No, not the pervy part, but the way he treats her in usual times. Sanji has been, sort of, “angry” at Nami only once(when Germa 66 tried to break him away from the Straw Hat Pirates and Nami resisted). That was the only moment we saw a serious conversation between the two.

Yeah, there are also OP fans who think that took Zoro’s place while he was absent, but the words she spoke meant quite different than what Zoro would have said to Sanji…

The Ship Between Nami & Luffy

I suppose you are aware of this fan-made theory? There’s a large One Piece fans group that ship Nami with Luffy. Though I won’t question their preference, but Luffy has never shown any sign of romance or attraction to opposite sex regardless of how beautiful they are.

Heck, dude didn’t think twice to strongly hug Boa Hancock, who is supposed to be one of the most beautiful woman in existence.

Of course, I cannot forget how Nami became a member of the crew. Luffy literally saved her life, and for that she will remain thankful to him all her life. But, could we connect their strong bonding with romantic relationship? Nah!

I’m still convinced that Nami will end-up with Sanji. And as for Luffy, he might end-up with Boa Hancock…

Conclusion & FAQ

So, the conclusion is that everything is at the hands of One Piece creator (Oda). One Piece have entered final arc, and (G)Oda has said that he will leave so stone unturned to reveal every secret in the series. In the end, as a staunch One Piece fan we can at least hope to see a time-skip after the Straw Hats find One Piece…
